DISTRIBUTION contracts won by the own account sector in recent weeks include four won by two National Freight Consortium companies.
British Road Services' GDS Transport subsidiary is to distribute French-made Peaudouce disposable nappies from a 190,000sqft warehousing area at Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire. BRS is also to distribute Spearhead products to the grocery trade.
National Carriers Contract Services is handling a £2m contract to distribute Debenhams Furnishings goods, and is also handling Honda UK car parts from a parts centre at Chiswick, West London.
And outside NFC, Lex Wilkinson is to undertake Christmas deliveries of wines and spirits for national off-licence chain Ashe and Nephew.
