A FATAL accident involving a single-axle converter dolley trailer has become the object of a private prosecution against a lorry driver.
The parents of six children killed along with a teacher when their minibus was struck by the trailer of a lorry travelling in the opposite direction are dissatisfied that only limited charges have beenbrought against driver Thomas Jones and owner Philip Moss. Four months after the accident on the A604 near Colchester, . Mr Moss was charged with having no brakes working on the converter dolly axle, having faulty stop lamps, and lacking a DTp certificate.
The parents have applied for sommonses alleging dangerous driving by Jones and alleging that he and Mosshad an illegal trailer combination behind the Scania lorry.
