letters about foreign vehicles (CM September 22). If Mr M. J. Curtis thinks that the Crusader compares with the foreign vehicles than he, or his drivers, could not have taken a 10-hour drive in a foreign vehicle.
I think that if more buyers of vehicles had to spend a few days actually driving these vehicles within their work they would have a few suggestions to put to the salesman and designer.
I think that if Mr Curtis were to contact the nearest Volvo dealer or any other foreign manufacturer they would be only too pleased to show him and his maintenance staff around. If he would like a run in a Volvo under working conditions I would be only too pleased to oblige him.
I, like his own driver, carry only steel but I don't have to wear overalls because no dust, fumes or draught come into the cab.
To Mr A. A. Thomson, of Penzance. The foreign makers have thought of the driver first for years; the British are still thinking about it. The Bedford TK cab and the Ford have been the best cabs in this country for a few years. I see that this year's Show has suddenly come up with a few surprises.
