Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Haulier Paul Ashwell won the first round in his battle to prove his innocence in the Iraqi `Supergun' affair last Friday when he was granted bail from a Greek jail.

Ashwell, whose wife and baby are with him in Greece, has to remain there until his case is heard in court, and must report to the police every five days. The Daily Mirror raised the .219,000 bail for the family, which was granted despite recommendations against it by the prosecution. As Commercial Motor went to press, Ashwell had not been given a date for his trial. His Greek lawyer is thought to believe that if the case gets into court, Ashwell will be tried for a misdemeanor, which carries a maximum prison sentance of five years.

Following the news that Ashwell had been given bail, thousands of drivers called off plans for a protest convoy.
