Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• MAN has re-vamped its contract maintenance programme which is now "designed to match exactly the particular needs of each operator and their fleet of vehicles".

The contract maintenance scheme has been running for four years; MAN has spent the past year examining the wants of its operators. "We recognise that every truck operator has different requirements," it says. "Before, the contract maintenance scheme was quite rigid. But now the programme will cover all operator add-ons, as no chassis or tractive unit is ever used just by itself."

The standard maintenance package includes all routine servicing, repairs, safety inspections, tachograph maintenance, replacement vehicles and roadside recovery. It can be extended to bodywork and trailers, ancillary equipment and out-of-hours and Continental servicing.
