II A Volvo FL617 fitted with a 7.34m insulated GRP body with a lowering roof to allow access to low-height entries will be on show at the IRTE exhibition at Telford.
The Flex Body has an outer roof that raises (for unloading) and lowers hydraulically through a simple scissor-type link arrangement. The angle of the cab roof spoiler adjusts simultaneously.
Its appearance marks the initial entry to the British market by Swedish bodybuilder Sala Karross through its UK arm, Truck Trading, of Orwell near Royston, Herts.
Sala wants to establish links with a suitable company here, to assemble Flex Body kits and to provide service and maintenance back-up.
The body system has proven popular with large wholesalers supplying Swedish hotels via basement entries.
