He was speaking at tt RHA's annual dinner in 1 and commented on the 1 of the "shadow of trade; power" by the present Government.
He went on to say of politicians offering a "coherent" transport pol "Those are the people v want to put road haulag( into the cage from whict liberated yourselves in t years after the War."
Hurd also told the RH "You represent a succes story. The distribution s is one of the most effick parts of the economy."
He also heard RHA chairman Bert Neely cal an indefinite freeze of vi excise duty rates. "By n increasing vehicle excise the Chancellor has at las. recognised that we are the entertainment busint but vital to the country' prosperity," said Neely.
