• The first fix 2 tandem steer Leyland Roadtrain 20.29, with LTA 10-290, 10litre Cummins engine and Low Datum C40 day cab has gone into service at Conoco's Aldermaston depot in Berkshire.
Conoco has a further nine Roadtrains of this type on order. Like all 6x2 I Roadtrains, they will be bu ! by Scarnmefl at Watford.
Hitherto, the only 6x2 tonne GCW tractive unit in Leyland range was the 20.: Roadtrain, with High Datur sleeper cab and 14 litre Ni 320 Cummins engine. With kerb weight of around 7.75 tonnes this is too heavy foi Conoco's payload requirem The 20.29's kerb weight is less than seven tonnes.
The new Roadtrains are joining a predominantly Dal fleet and their performance will be compared with that Conoco's other new lightweight 6x2s, which are a 2500s with trailing, lifting t axle conversions.
