Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

How did you come to buy York in the first place?

We wanted a frameless van -to get the maximum payload. So we looked around for a manufacturer experienced in that field. We found York had been building them for 14 years. Certainly the Freightmasters we've had so far have lived up to the good impression we formed visiting your factories in England.

What is it you like about the Freightmaster itself?

Well, apart from the basics like road holding and braking which are satisfactory there is quite a list of technical advantages. • First the full width pick up plate allows us to couple up the tractor from any angle.

• The landing legs are spaced wide and well forward. When we're loading uncoupled vans we don't worry about stability or rather lack of it.

• We like the interior lining that is standard. There are no projections. And the cargo anchorage points flush with the walls are excellent.

Faster Turn Round • We run loaded fork trucks right inside the Freightmasters. It really speeds up turn round. The York's laminated floor stands up to it — of course the floor bearers are at 305mmi 12" centres.

• The one piece roof is quite a feature — with the rivets outside the cargo area. We used to get trouble with leaks before we had the Yorks.

▪ Also the doors have saved us money. I believe they are the same as on York containers. They are tough — and have four hinges on each door. And of course they are well sealed.

You were asking me what benefits we had gained.

Certainly more payload, approximately 1500 kilos. Q. But that's well over a ton? A. Yes, but we were using vans built on a chassis before.

Q. Without a chassis the Freightmasters sit low when coupled?

A. Oh yes — we get more cube within the European overall height limit — it works out at an extra 4 cubic metres.

• There's more width too. We can get two metric pallets across the width. And the width through the door frame is the same as inside.

• The Alchem protection on the steel parts should save us money on repainting as time goes by. Great Publicity Value • Everybody likes the look the Freightmaster.

had favourable commen from customers and driver We think they're a goo advertisement for ot company.

• And Freightmasters at good value, as I said. Corr petrtive from a price poin of view and we find there' an efficient service through out the continent.
