EXPERIMENTS are being made by Edinburgh Transport Department, Scottish Omnibuses, Ltd., Dundee Corporation and Allison's Transport, Ltd., with the invention of a Scottish engineer, Mr. John McGregor, of Edinburgh, which puts a skin a millionth part of an inch thick on metal and combats engine wear.

Since Mr. McGregor treated his car engine with the process, called Promac. it has covered 70,000 miles without having had the oil topped up, it is stated. A spokesman of Allison's Transport has stated that an oil engine treated with the process had given a " tremendously improved performance.'

AGRANT of nearly Ilm, has been made by the Minister of Transport to London County Council towards the cost of improving the northern approach to the Blackwall Tunnel. The total cost is estimated at £1.6m., and this amount covers the building of a clover-leaf crossing to allow the free flow of traffic into and out of the tunnel as well as along the East India Dock Road.
