Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

For 2011, Tachodisc’s in-house software and technical development team has added some significant new features to the company’s popular instant analysis software package.

Using the latest advancements in IT, Tachodisc has created a fresh user interface that simplifies and quickens the navigation process: ● A newly designed dashboard, which from the initial log-on displays key management information: Current driver card downloads for the whole company.

Driver utilisation for the whole company.

A league table showing the top five driver infringements from the previous week.

Drivers’ cards that require immediate downloading.

Vehicle units that require immediate downloading.

Calendar.

● A new ‘ribbon’ interface, similar to Microsoft applications, where a set of toolbars are placed on tabs in a tab bar at the top of the screen, has been added. The toolbars are filled with graphical representations of control elements that are grouped by different functionality. This approach gives the software more flexibility enabling the user to find the information they require in a couple of clicks.

● Improved user functionality for the management of analogue chart data.

Industry first

Significantly, the software now facilitates two-way communications when used with a DigiPostV – this is an industry first and is unique to Tachodisc.

By integrating the software with a DigiPostV device, users are able to send and receive text messages from within the software directly to the driver, who can have up to four pre-defined responses. The main benefit of this new two-way communication system is that an audit log of all communications can be maintained for traceability purposes.

Karen Crispe adds: “Our focus has always been about making sure that our core software system, in terms of its dayto-day features and usability, is the best it can be technically. We then combine our skills and knowledge of the legislation to identify how it can be used alongside other business tools to help simplify and improve the efficiencies of a transport operation. The future is integration, creating a level of cohesion between different transport legislative IT systems.”

Additional key features include:

● ‘Traffic Light’ system – this scheduling tool enables the user, at a single glance, to view the overall statistical status of its drivers, and plan when the data on drivers’ digital cards and vehicle units needs to be downloaded.

● Clear, concise and fully flexible reporting.

● Ability to create infringement reports, printouts on events and faults data, current speed data and driving-without-a-card reports.

● Compatible with all manufacturers’ hardware available from Tachodisc.

● Integrated web browser for access to Tachodisc’s vehicle tracking solution.

It is also one of the most cost-competitive systems available to operators that want to carry out analogue and digital analysis for both Drivers’ Hours Law and Road Transport Directive in one operation. And, unlike some other providers, our prices are all-inclusive, with no hidden costs.

Importantly, customers can also use the expertise of Tachodisc’s highly skilled bureau team by integrating a wide range of professional compliance services, including enhanced analysis reporting, fleet management consultancy and training.

Angela Eardley, Tachodisc Fleet Analysis Manager, says: “Our personable approach is the reason why we have earned an enviable reputation for customer service, and why the majority of our analysis business is made up from repeat custom and word-of mouth referrals. Not many companies can say this.” “Digital data is a very powerful source of information and can be used to extract all manner of business intelligence, which will benefit and improve efficiencies within a fleet operation. The advent of digital tachographs and software has transformed how operators manage and use analysis – beyond that of simply managing drivers’ hours.” Guy Reynolds, Tachodisc Technical Director
