• Roadchef, the motorway service area and transport cafe owner, is to give more of its 800 employees a chance to buy shares in the company. It owns services on the M5 and the M6.
• Whittle International Freight of Preston is linking with Istanbul haulier Stalk to increase its services to and from Turkey. The agency agreement gives Whittle 20 extra Turkishoperated trucks and sales back-up aimed at Turkish exporters.
• The Port of Dover handled almost 20% more commercial vehicles this January than in January last year. In all 74,508 units passed through the port during the month.
