• Northumbria Motor Services, a former National Bus Company subsidiary bought by its management last October, has ordered 10 long-wheelbase Leyland Olympians.
Northumbria already operates Olympians between Tyneside and the Scottish border. The new vehicles' chassis were built at Farington, and their 80-seat bodywork is by Alexander of Falkirk.
