• Bedwas Bodyworks has reduced lead times for fitting its Supercool bodies on 3.5tonne chassis-cabs to two weeks for insulated, and three weeks for refrigerated versions.
The speed-up in delivery times has been achieved by building up stocks of the GRP panels and structural members, sufficient for at least 10 bodies at the Bedwas, Gwent and Chorley plants.
Each kit has a strengthened rear door assembly fitted with stainless steel hinges and a heavy duty framework. Bedwas says that a dieselengined Transit 190 with a standard 3.0m body and Hubbard 460 chiller unit gives a payload of around 1,550kg.
