Now available in the UK is a range of Japanese air tools including straight hand grinders, hand disc grinders and air impact wrenches from Mitachi Electric Machine Company.

Both grinders operate using an air supply of 85 psi. The disc grinder has an air hose size of 0.375in, and takes a 4in. wheel at 12,000 rpm.

The straight grinder has a 0.250in. air-hose size: rpm varies between 21,000 and 26,000 depending on the model.

Available in five models with torque capacities ranging from 1.0 kgm to 175 kgm the air impact wrenches operate using an air supply of between 5 kg per sq cm and 10 kg per sq cm (71 psi to 141 psi), again the air pressure varying to some extent with model. Between them the wrenches can account for stud-bolt sizes between 6mm and 32mm.
