Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

low-loader trailer for the purpose of transporting my own traction engines and other vintage equipment to and from shows. Does such a trailer need to be plated if it is over a certain width and if the speed of the outfit is restricted?

AIf the trailer complies with the require ments of the Construction and Use Regulations in all respects it is subject to plating and annual testing under the heavy goods vehicle testing scheme.

If, however, the trailer exceeds the maximum width permitted under the C and U Regulations (8ft 21in.) it is classed as a Special Types vehicle and does not have to be plated and tested. Also, if for any reason other than its width it does not comply with C and U Regulations it becomes a Special Types vehicle and is exempt.

Speed ;t.self does not have any bearing on the question of plating and testing. Restrictions apply only in certain circumstances if for some reason the trailer is classed as Special Types,
