E. A. Wall (Wincanton Transport Co Ltd) has been elected chairman of the Fl HA milk carriers' functional group in succession to R. P. Miens (see Bird's eye view, page 55); J. 0. Bury (Bury's Transport Ltd, Oxfordi and C. C. Wheatar (Milk and General Haulage Co Ltd, Nottingham) were re-elected vice-chairmen.

L. E. Baxter and T. A. White, director and general manager and parts director respectively, are relinquishing their positions within Normand Commercial Vehicles Ltd with effect from March 31. This follows the decision by Mercedes-Benz (Great Britain) Ltd, the concessionaires for Mercedes-Benz vehicles, to handle the marketing of commercial vehicles direct with effect from April 1. Mr Baxter and Mr White will also relinquish their directorships of Maxi-Trucks Ltd, the ERF, Tecalemit and Cummins franchise holding company in the same Group and, in the case of Mr Baxter, additionally from the board of Normand (East Anglia) Ltd.

Eric Buck has been elected national president of The Institute of British Carriage and Automobile Manufacturers. Mr Buck, UK sales manager for the Hyde Motor Group of ICI Paints Division, succeeds R. W. Simpkin as 1BCAM president.

James Anderson, 28, has joined MAT Transport Ltd as marketing and sales manager. Mr Anderson was, until recently, marketing consultant to Mann and Son (London) Ltd, and before that spent four years with the Ford Motor Company, which he left as European interplant traffic supervisor.

J. B. Hargreaves, at present traffic manag, and deputy general manager of Crosvil Motor Services Ltd, has been appointE general manager of the Northern Group Companies in succession to L. S. Higgin now at Southdown.

David 0. N. Graham, traffic manager Ribble Motor Services Ltd, is to succeed P. I Hunt as general manager of Yorkshi Traction Co Ltd on April 1 1972, L. Carswell (James and Geo. H. Matthev. Ltd, Wickford) has been elected chairman the Eastern (metropolitan section) area of tt London and Home Counties division of tt Freight Transport Association; T. I Jenldnson (James Latham Ltd, E5) vice-chairman; D. A. Robertson (BOC (Silcock), Ltd, E16) secretary.
