Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

-FAST weekend's contest at Weymouth was the first of no fewer Li than 24 regional rounds in the 1967 Lorry Driver of the Year competition, sponsored by COMMERCIAL MOTOR. The table below shows the elate, place and organizing secretary of the other 23 rounds at which class winners will be selected for participation in the National Finals at Bramcote, from which the ultimate winner will emerge.

Applications for entry should be made to the appropriate regional secretary, and it is hoped that this year there will be a greater haulage entry to support the traditionally strong C-licensed participation.

The drivers who take part have to answer six questions—usually about the rules of the road and the regulations surrounding commercial driving—and then cover a road route of not less than five miles and complete three driving tests. This year the tests will be the familiar kerb parking, a simplified width judgment manoeuvre with fixed pylons to drive between, and a lengthened loading bay test as used at last year's finals. This involves driving forward to cross a fixed line before reversing into an offside bay set at an angle.

Vehicles eligible for the competition must fall in one of the following classes: Rigids up to 16 ft. overall and over 20 cwt. unladen; over 16 ft. and up to 19 ft.; over 19 ft. and up to 22 ft.; over 22 ft. and up to 25 ft.; over 25 ft. with two axles; over 25 ft. with more than two axles. Artier: flat or sided semi-trailers with fiat or drop frame, up to 33 ft. train length; box or tank semi-trailers with flat or drop frame, up to 33 ft.; flat or sided semi-trailers with flat or drop frame, over 33 fl.; box or tank semi-trailers with flat or drop frame, over 33 ft.

Service drivers, and civilian drivers in service vehicles, compete in the appropriate classes above, as there is now no separate services class.

Except for service vehicles and those used for load-carrying by Crown departments, all vehicles entered must be in regular use under A, B or C licence or Northern Ireland equivalent carrier's licence.
