Photographs were taken of the vehicle at certain points. No official information about the visir is available, but the inference is drawn that evidence was obtained for use against Mr. J. H. Hobson, a Golcar operator, who is

applying . to the Yorkshire Licensing Authority for permission to provide a

stage-carriageservice.

As Huddersfield Joint Omnibus Committee declined to give such a service, the Upperthong villagers chartered a coach from Mr. Hobson

EXIT THE NAIRN BROTHERS

IT is reported that the Nairn brothers, Gerald and Norman. who started the famous desert coach service from Damascus to Bagdad, have retired from the business. They are returning to New Zealand and are said to have handed over the business to their Lebanese and Syrian staff.

NO BUSES TO SHOPS' •

BUSES are to be excluded from two of the main shopping streets-of Hastings, under a plan approved by the town council. A new bus station is to be built in Caroline Place, which will include provision for independent operators.
