ERE has been a good response to Britain's first regional transport survey, says an interim report. The survey is by the Ministry of Transport covering West Cumberland and the report is to the Northern Economic Planning Council, Some 200 firms are taking part.
The survey is a systematic attempt to discover the volume, origins and destinations of commercial traffic on particular routes and by particular modes of travel. It also attempts to discover the trends for particular firms, industries and places.
