Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Dealing with Power-driven Vehicles and Mechanical Aids to Cultivation.

THE SEVENTY-EIGHTH annual show of the Royal Agricultural Society of England, under the patronage of His Majesty the King, will be opened at Cardiff on the 24th inst., a week from today, and will remain open until the following Saturday, the 28th inst.

Since the last show of this kind was held at Manchester in June, 1916. Britain's-industrial and coin' mercial activities have emerged from the high-pitched tension inseparable from war-time production to the more tranquil days of peace. Although hostilities. ceased but, eight months ago, the manner in which many manufacturers in our own industry have changed over front a war-inflated output to meeting civilian needs calls for nothing but praise.

Many of our readers will recall that, at the Man-chester Show in 1916, the number of exhibitors was a mere skeleton of those which were accustomed to stage examples of individual manufacture at former Shows. On this account, the value and importance of the Show to the individual manufacturer may have been limited at the two war-time Shows held, owing to the difficulty of overcoming red-tape restrictions. These measures have now, fortunately, been relegated to the limbo of past happenings, with the result that the efforts of manufacturers are not now hampered to any appreciable extent.

The importance of the " Royal " to the industry as a whole, apart from its unquestionable benefit to the individual manufacturer, is now established beyond a doubt. If signs were needed to endorse this statement, they are readily forthcoming from the list of exhibitors at this year's Show. The list of those exhibitors of direct interest to our readers is much longer than in previous years, and this fact in itself is, indeed, a positive sign that manufacturers of power-driven vehicles are fully cognisant of future potentialities. As in previous years, we are publishing a forecast -of the exhibits which will be staged, for we know full well that this is of considerable use. It will be seen, from the matter which follows, that this year's Show at Cardiff bids fair to outrival any former shows held under the auspices of the R.A.S.E. The practice, which we have adopted for several years past, in order to assist, so far as possible, those of our readers' who may make a visit to the Show and who wish to cover as much ground as possible, will be strictly followed. We shall, in our next issue, publish a specially-prepared plan of the showground, which will have, clearly marked upon it, a suggested route : this we advise readers to cut out and follow carefully. It will save much time and the possible overlooking of important stands. • The choice of Cardiff for this year's Show is a particularly happy one. The city is well situated, is well served by railway routes, and is the centre of a hive of industry in South Wales.. Visitors who contemplate coming over from the Midlands and the .North of England will find that they can do so with little inconvenience.
