Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TRUCKS MIGHT HAVE to drive through a Leicestershire village at 20mph if the Department for Transport (DfT) allows the county council to test the scheme. The 84114 runs through the village of Sharnford, and Leicestershire County Council is seeking DfT permission to limit trucks to 20mph through the village. All other traffic would remain subject to the current 30mph limit.

The route is used as a shortcut between the M1 and the A5, or as an alternative when the M69 is congested.

If the assessment is carried out, electronic signs which identify trucks will be installed and flash the appropriate speed at HGVs. David Parsons, leader of the county council, says : "We are always keen to innovate and hope we can pioneer a speed trial in Sharnford."
