INNOVATIONS IS the theme of ZF's stand at the g ant IAA Hannover Truck Show in September.
By the beginning of next year, ZF will be the transnssion of cho‘ce across the lveco Eurocargo line-up, and it wit also take the wraps off a new 12-speed manual version of the trusty Ecosplit transmission at Hannover.
The transmission has a maximum torque rating of 2800Nm and comes in a new housing, which saves weight.
The Hannover Show will also be where ZF unveils its range of hybrid products for the light and medium-duty truck sector, as well as revealing who will be the first customer to take advantage of this technology.
While most will know ZF for its transmissions, the company has much more to offer the commercial vehicle sector. For instance, at Hannover, it will be showing a new cab suspension, which does away with the front cross stabiliser bar and shifts it to the rear. This is designed to free up space at the front of the cab to allow for improved cooling solutions — something which becomes crucial as the makers get to grips with Euro-6 emissions legislation.
One of the other IAA highlights from ZF is its new rack-and-pinion steering system, which, when combined with independent front suspension, can offer a weight saving of up to 50kg
