Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I WISH to appeal to the 75,000 people who have benefited from a MOTEC course during the last 14 years, to support this centre in its hour of need.

MOTEC High Ercall was paid for with industry funds earned by you. Its continuation is under serious threat due to moves by the MAA and RHA, who want to split the Board into two organisations to serve their own sectors.

Both Associations have stated that they do not wish to support either MOTEC, presumably for reasons of self interest. Where will this leave those of you, ie the silent majority who are not represented by these bodies? Almost certainly without your MOTEC and probably other RTITB services, eg skills assessment.

You will, however, still be required to pay your training levy, as Mr Norman Tebbit has already stated that a Transport Training Board must remain as a statutory body and be financed by its industry.

So, to those of you who have been helped by MOTEC, it is now your turn to help us. Please write to your MP or trade association, or trade magazine, and tell them how you feel about this.
