• Diesel prices are set to rise by at least 2p/lit, says analysts at Oil Price Assessment, rising "significantly" in the long-term.

The Departments of Energy and Transport have come up with a series of "light-handed measures" to deal with a scenario of depleted oil reserves. These include a possible cut in the overall speed limit from 70mph to 50mph.
