Prins GRANT CLAIMS • As reported in Commercial Motor December 27, 1986, the Road Transport Industry Training Board has completed the assessment of specific grant claims made by employers for the training year ended July 31, 1986, and has calculated the funds available to meet these claims.

The system — whereby levy from each of the board's industrial sectors is accounted for separately and used to pay for grants in the contributing sector — is to continued. The individual point values for each sector (with the previous year's figures in brackets) are as follows: Road Haulage: £3.33 (£3.38) Motor Vehicle Retail & Repair: £3.36 (3.78) Furniture Removals: £5.20 (S10. (X)) Vehicle Body Building & Repair: £6.58 (£7.45) Motor Factors: £7.98 (£3.39) Netting statements showing specific grants allocated or exemption credits are currently being prepared and sent to employers, the amounts being off-set against the second instalment of levy, based on 0.6% of employer's payrolls. Where levy exceeds grants, the balance is payable on receipt of the account. Where grant exceeds levy the Board's cheque for the balance will be enclosed.
