• Chris Wright (Baildon) is to be given the opportunity to make representations about the effect on its business of proposed environmental conditions to its licence.
The company had applied to renew its international licence for 24 vehicles and 25 trailers. There was an objection from a Major Hiles who complained of being unable to sleep because of the noise of the company's operations throughout the night.
North Eastern LA Frederick Whalley proposed imposing conditions despite evidence that the company would lose the heavy machinery and plant traffic it carried if it could not operate 24 hours a day. The proposed conditions would prevent vehicles leaving before 0500hrs, the coupling of tractors to trailers before 0700hrs and the running of engines for longer than five minutes except when under cover for normal maintenance purposes.
