Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A REVISED clutch release bearing has been introduced on Vauxhall Chevette and Bedford Chevanne models from chassis no KX150228 and LX100101, right drive and left drive respectively.

The revised self-aligning clutch-release bearing can be installed to earlier vehicles if needed and is available from General Motors Parts Europe, Division of Vauxhall Motors Limited, under part numbers 91076894 or 91076895 or 91076896. With the introduction of the revised bearing, a torsion spring has been incorporated at the clutch pedal pivot to maintain residual tension on the clutch cable. The clutch fork return spring has been deleted. • It is important to note that, in association with these changes, there is no longer any clutch fork free travel, because the release bearing is now in constant contact with the clutch diaphragm spring fingers.

Clutch cable adjustment is correct when the clutch pedal is aligned with the brake pedal. Wear of the clutch disc causes the clutch pedal to move upwards and out of alignment with the brake pedal, indicating that adjustment of the clutch cable is necessary.
