Scotland: Glasgow: The General Terminus Quay road is now closed until April while demolition work takes place. A diversion and access to other quays is signposted.

A741: Extensive roadworks have begun on the Renfrew road, at Paisley and also on the Paisley Roactiflenfrew. These works will affect drivers using the M8 -and long delays are inevitable. Police patrols will be in attendance throughout the duration of the work.

Northern England: The Four Bridges road link between Wallasey and Birkenhead in Wirral is expected to be back in operation during this month. Since the bridge has been out of action there has been congestion at the two other road links across Birkenhead docks, Duke Street bridge and Penny Bridge.

Midlands: Ml: Due to mining subsidence, a temporary ban on heavy vehicles using the M1 has now come into effect. Vehicles over 32 tons or more than 9ft 6in wide will be banned from using the road between junctions 29 and 30.

Ml: in Northamptonshire, lane closures are in force on both carriageways in the vicinity of the Rothersthorpe and Watford Gap service areas.

A428: Resurfacing and planing work is in progress on the Bretford River Bridge in Warwickshire. A diversion is signposted and drivers are warned that delays are extremely likely.

Wales and the West: A31/35: Work starts shortly on the Bare Regis by-pass between the top of Sitterton Hill and Town's End. Completion is scheduled for June 1982.

M4: The London-bound carriageway restaurant is closed until May, but drivers can still gain access to the westbound facilities by using the footbridge.

M4: Repairs to the Wye Bridge section of the Severn Bridge will start shortly. Repairs to expansion joints are necessary resulting in the removal of part of the road surface which will require lane closures. These will last for about three weeks in each direction and, in addition, a 30 mph speed limit will be imposed.

Penzance: The Ross Swing Bridge is being rebuilt between now and April, and drivers are urged to use the Market Jew Street route as an alternative.

South East England: Al: There are occasional lane closures between now and March due to the rebuilding of the Rowley Lane flyoverion the Barnet by-pass. Most are at weekends. Road surfacing at the Princes Road Roundabout, Dartford, near the Dartford Tunnel, may cause congestion for drivers due to reduced road widths.

Ireland: Dublin: Major roadworks at Bachelor's Walk will result in diversions until May. There is at least one lane in use at all times.

International: All lorries using the Grand St Bernard Tunnel between Switzerland and Italy will need snowchains until April. Otherwise they may be refused entry. The customs post between Hungary and Austria at Sepron/Klingenbach is closed to goods vehicles until April 30.
