The demountable system works on the guide-track system with rollers at the front of the body locating with tracks along the vehicle chassis during re-mounting. In the tipping model, a single hydraulic ram located forward of the rear axle lifts the whole guide track assembly from underneath.

The chassis are equipped with special hydraulic crosslocks for securing the body to the frame, rather than the normal rear-end twistlocks.
