Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

a letter from the TGWU

In your issue dated December 20, page 32, you published an article under the heading "Frank Cousins' Successor". This letter is sent for the purpose of drawing your attention to a very important point which has been clearly misrepresented.

I am writing on behalf of Mr. Alan Thomson, to whom reference is made as being associated with the booklet written by Mr. Tony Corfield. In Transport House it is a known fact that Mr. Thomson was not in any way associated with, or agrees with, the principles expounded in the booklet. It could, however, you will appreciate, cause the membership in our branches to think otherwise without knowledge of these facts arid I would very much appreciate it if you would make it clear in a prominent place in your next publication that this particular statement is incorrect and that Mr. Thomson is in no way involved. As I have said, those closely associated with Mr. Thomson are aware of this but the wider membership could well be under the wrong impression as a result of this article.

A. C. BLY,GHTON, Secretary—Central Office, Legal Department, Transport and General Workers' Union.
