Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The longitudinals and outriggers of a Brockhouse 16+-ton semi-trailer chassis were used as a sub-frame for a lightweight aluminium refrigerated body by Silverdale Motor Bodies Ltd., York Road, Birmingham, 28, in the case of the 20-ton-gross refrigerated outfit shown in the accompanying picture. Recently delivered to R. F. Brookes Ltd., the outfit is designed to carry a palletized load of 10 tons when coupled to a Bedford K14 tractive unit, and is being used for country-wide deliveries of frozen pies and foods. The vehicle is the largest to be put into service by the operators and the only articulated outfit. The 30ft body is of the twin-framed type and is reinforced with a steel back frame to cater for the weight of a fork-lift truck when used for loading. Four Joloda tracks are incorporated in the floor.

Insulation is provided by Sin. of polyurethane, which is foamed in situ, while the refrigeration plant is a Thermo-King PKW50 unit, running on propane gas. The internal operating temperature is —5cleg F.

Unladen weight of the complete trailer is 10 tons 2ewt and the outfit has a g.v.w. of 20 tons. The refrigeration unit is mounted on an extended bulkhead to give maximum internal load space.
