Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

-A SUGGESTION for an improved design for a British Railways road vehicle is being prepared and is at the mock-up stage," Mr. George Williams, design officer of the British Transport Commission, announced last week.

In an address to the Design and Industries Association he said that the basis of design in transport should spring from an appreciation of comfort in every sense —visual and mental, as well as bodily. - " So far as public transport is concerned, nothing is too small to matter in working for a high level of appearance and amenity," he declared; "the printing of a ticket can suggest the personality of an organization just as clearly as the layout of a station or the furnishing of a restaurant car."

£100,000 B.R.S. DEPOT IMPROVEMENTS XAORE than £100,000 is to be spent by 01 British Road Services on developing their general haulage depot at Bromford, which is their principal depot in Birmingham.

The entrance will be resited, pressbutton refuelling facilities will be provided for a large number of vehicles, additional surfaced areas for car and vehicle"parking will be laid out, and staff amenities greatly improved.

The depot is sited in the heart of an area that is being industrially developed, and its enlargement and improvement are planned to make it the only solely general-haulage BR S. depot in the city. With a fleet of approaching 100 vehicles, together with many trailers, it deals with a great variety of traffic, including cased cars, vehicles and spares, from factory to storage before sorting and dispatch for export.
