Along with the conventional advice of avoiding sleeping in lay-bys at night, and using secure truck stops where possible, TruckPol admits that drivers will always be at risk. CM understands TruckPol is trying to improve its relationships with the various forces and 2010 did see some success in catching freight crime gangs. But despite this, the risks remain and drivers are encouraged to be vigilant at all times.
