Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

-Richard Turner. the longserving deputy directorgeneral of the Freight Transport Association, has vehemently denied he is to take over as boss of the Road Haulage Association.

Contradicting rumours which tip him to become the RHA's new chief executive,

Turner says: "I have not applied for the job, I don't want the job and have not been approached." He even said he was upset to be linked to the job, formerly held by Steven Norris.

Turner, who has been with the FTA since the early seventies, would be considered a safe pair of hands.

One of the first jobs for whoever takes over will be to sort out the RHA's financial position.

Taking on Turner would have cemented a stronger future relationship between the two trade bodies and would have aided any merger plans.

The RHA is to announce who will be its new chief executive before the end of February.
