Air and pressure is supplied by the Godfrey L 800 Rootes blower driven by a Leyland 0E160 diesel engine mounted at the rear of a trailer. The tank is of the single compartment type and has a capacity of 1,215 cu. ft.
At the demonstration the meal was discharged through a 24 in. pipe coupled to the 4 in. type of the vehicle system. The discharge rate was therefore considerably reduced compared with the normal rate. Cleansing the tank and pipes after discharge to receive a material of a different type was performed by "blowing out" into the atmosphere.
