Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

\/\TOUR reference under "Passing Comments" in your 'OUR dated February 3, to the value of the " lostwax " method of casting did not mention how long this practice has been used by modern engineers, but i assume it to be of comparatively recent introduction. If so, I think that it might well be described as the long-lost lost-wax process, for I seem to recall reading that very similar methods were used by quite early civilizations, thousands of years ago When wishing to Make lifesize statues of animals, to be used for symbolic purposes, the appropriaLe body was placed in the moulding material and the necessary impression made. Whether any further processes followed before the entry of molten metal was not clear from the description as I recall it. I have always understood that it was by such means as these that certain nations were able to produce accurate and lifelike representations of living creatures. Perhaps some of your other readers may be able to give us fuller information on this subject.
