Alley and MacLellan.

This well-known Scottish c citiutor ii ill show one of its standard sixton wagons; the type of boiler adopted happens to be illustrated in this issue (page 496). A single-chain drive is employed, direct from the crankshaft to the live back axle, and the vehicle is specially designed for bandy manipulation in traffic.

Berna.

Berm), Commercial Motors, Ltd., of London, has good space allotted to it, but we are not in a position to say whether this company intends to stage anything beyond a single example of its stout five-tan vehicle. Oaing to the free use of ball bearings in this maker's system, remarkable economy of petrol is achieved.

Clayton.

Clayton and Co. (I udd ersfield), notifies us that it will show : a threetea wagon, with winding gear attachment, constructed to the order of the Huddersfield Industrial Society, Ltd.; a 34-ton tipping wagon, constructed to the order of Messrs. S. Wilkinson and Son, brick and tile manufacturers, of Elland ; and a 25 cwt. chassis, constructed to the order of Messrs. J. E. Bentley and Co., dyers and finishers, of Halifax. In the case of the firstnamed vehicle, two drums are provided, one attached to the outer end of each of the differential shafts.

" Commer Cars."

Commercial Cars, Ltd., of London and Luton, is to be well to the fore. A" Leeds-type "lorry, sold to the Cooperative Wholesale Society, of Manchester, and fitted with engine-operated winding gear, will attract first attention at this stand, which will be under the general superintendence of the company's Manchester agent, Mr. I. P. White, of 26, Bridge Street. A "

Bridgwater-type" chassis, fitted with box-van body, sold to the Rad

chile Niotor Transit Co., of Radcliffe, a show-finished " M.C." chassis, and one of the company's latest gearboxes, will complete a well-staged exhibit.

Foden.

Fodens, Ltd., of El worth Works, Sandbach, a.s might be expected in the home of its largest trade, will show one of its latest-pattern patented side-tipping wagons. This wagon has been sold to Mr. Thomas Jackson, brickmaker, of Longsight, and the body will carry a five-ton load. There will also be on the stand a three-ton rubber-tired machine, fitted with heavy section of Polack tires, and this vehicle, it is interesting to note, is destined for immediate dispatch to Paris elicit the show is over.

Halley.

Halley's Industrial Motors, Ltd., of Yoker. Glasgow, whose Manchester branch is at 1-3, Bridgewater Viaduct. Deansgate, and under the charge of Mr. J. G. Pearson, will show one 20 hp. and two 28-34 h.p. vehicles. The first of these, which has been sold to Messrs. Blexard and Mackie, jam manufacturers, of Burnley, has a special body from an advertisement standpoint; the second machine, with tower-wagon equipment, has been sold to the Rochdale Corporation Tramways, and is similar to Halley vehicles purchased by the Glasgow and Rotherham Tramways Committees; the third vehicle, sold to Messrs. Dix and Co., brewers, of Shelton.

Leyland.

Leyland Motors, Ltd., of Leyland. Lamm, and 86, Strand, W.C., intends to place in position no fewer than five principal exhibits. A new gear-driven steam wagon, a repeat order for Greenall, Whitley and Co., Ltd., of St. Helens. finished in standard red, is number one; a five-ton petrol wagon, a repeat order for Mr. 'William Birtwistle, of Blackburn and Preston, who is a leading cotton spinner and manufacturer, is number two, and it will also be finished in the company's standard red ; a char-abanes, with a particularly-broad body, removable windows, cross seats to accommodate 34 passengers, and electric lighting, together with provision on the platform for parcels and other small baggage, really constitutes a good example of single-deck omnibus construction, and is number three; a 30 cwt. van, constructed to the order of W. R. Jacob and Co., Ltd., biscuit manufacturers, of Liverpool and Dublin, is elaborately fitted, both inside and out, and is exhibit number four and a standard pattern of London mail van, sold to Messrs. Blake and Co., of Beaumont Street, Liverpool, is exhibit number five.

Mann:

Mann's Patent Steam Cart and Wagon Co., Ltd., of Pepper Road Works, Hamlet, Leeds, will show only one wagon--a five-ton machine, which has been sold to Messrs. J. S. and J. Horwood, of Endow Mills, Bletchington. Oxon. This firm has used Mann machines for 7 years.

MimesDaimler.

Milnes-Daimler, Ltd., of 221, Tottenham Court Road, W., whose commercial-vehicle and technical departments are Ilow under the management of Captain Bagnall-Wild, intends to show only a 35 h.p., six-ton chassis. This machine has a pressed-steel frame, and its general design follows extremely-sound lines. The fourcylinder engine has a bore of 120 mm., and a piston-stroke of 150 mm.

Ryknield.

The Ryknield Motor Co., Ltd., of Burton on Trent. whose London branch is under the charge of Mr. W. Flexman French, at 29a, Charing Cross Road, W.C., and whose Lancashire agent is Mr. W. Stanway, of Blackfriars Street, Manchester, will make a principal feature of a newtype 30-33 h.p. four-cylinder chassis for omnibus work and the conveyance of three-ton loads. This chassis is of the model on order for the Brussels Omnibus Co., and no effort has been spared to secure a design which should insure good working results. This chassis is listed at .£475, and is known as type " R." There will be, alongside, a 24-seated char-k-bancs, with body constructed by Stagg and Robson. Ltd., of Selby, upon such a chassis. The third exhibit by this maker is to be a tradesman's covered v,n, with body, by Mr. Henry Eaton, of Manchester.

Tasker.

The only tractor, a" Little Giant," from the Waterloo Iron Works, Andover, will be sent by W. Maker and .4ints, Ltd. It has been sold to Messrs. R. Blackett and Son, builders and contractors, of Darlington. The trailer for this tractor will not be shown, as the space available is insufficient, having regard to the desire of this company also to show its " Little Giant " steam wagon. That machine was fully described and illustrated in our issue of the Oth December last.

Walker.

Walker Bros. (Wigan), Ltd., of Pagefield Iron Works, Wigan, is sending a complete " Pagefield " wagon, sold to the Beswick Pottery Co., of Beswick, Manchester, with standard two-ton cha,ssis and 16-18 h.p. engine. Thi& works has now turned out " Pagefield " vehicles, in the Manchester district, to the order of the following customers : 0. and G. Rushton, Ltd., Wigan ; C. and E. Pickstone, Ltd., Radcliffe ; Messrs. Johnson and Sons, Atherton ; T. C. Catterall, Esq., Darlington ; the Man

chester and Salford Equitable Cooperative Society, Ltd. ; the Manchester Brewery Co., Ltd.; and the Tramways Department of the Wigan Corporation.

Yorkshire.

One of the latest-type Yorkshire six-ton steam wagons, fitted with a van bouy, will be on view. This vehicle is a repeat sale to a Spanish customer, and it will have wheels of exceptional width, the Yorkshire company's Colonial-type model boiler, and an engine of increased power. It is painted in red, with lettering in gold leaf, and upon each side and the front of the wagon will be found the inscription : " Hijos de Mirat, Salamanca."

Accessories, Stores and Tires.

Several stands will include good examples in the accessory branches, and the requirements of owners in regard

to both stores and tires will be well studied by at least six exhibitors. Fuels will be represented by the Anglo-American Oil Co., Ltd. (Pratt's), the British Petroleum Co., Ltd. (Shell), the Gas Lighting Improvement Co., Ltd. (Carburine), and the P. G. R. Motor Spirit Co., Ltd. (P.G.R.); full ranges of tires will be staged by the Dook-Swain Tyre Co., Ltd., the Polack Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd., and the Shrewsbury and Challiner Tyre Co., Ltd. " Fastnut " washers will be on view, and Messrs. Herbert Frood, of Chapel-en-leFrith, will show their redoubtable brake-lining and clutch-facing material. Other stands of interest should be those for which the Leo Swain Co., Ltd., the Pendleton Radiator Co., Ltd., Rushmore Lamps, Ltd., and the Star Engineering Co., Ltd., are responsible, whilst we learn that Messrs. Brinley Reek; and Co.. of Cardiff, will be showing a new rim.
