• A trailer and load worth over £50,000 became too hot for thieves to handle when news of its disappearance appeared in CM's Crimeline column (3-9 Dec). The Peak tri-axle curtainsider, still loaded with yarn for weaving car seat cloth, was reunited with owners Baxendale Engineering after an anonymous
telephone caller told the Manchester-based company its trailer would be dumped in a layby on the Al.
The thieves told Baxendale Engineering they were put off by publicity in CM, says a company spokesman: "They obviously took fright and decided to get rid of the goods."
