• The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents has launched The Safety Officer of the Year award to draw attention to the "unrewarded individuals" who are responsible for health, safety and welfare at work. It is open to all sectors of British industry.
The 1993 winner will win a £1,000 travel prize, including the national health and safety convention in Florida. Entry closing date is 31 May 1993.
