BOTH of the main industry tri associations have had hour lc meetings with Transport Sec tary Nicholas Ridley, their fi since he moved to the post the autumn.
First to. meet him was Freight Transport Associati, whose president, Ian Dallis, led a delegation on Tuesday I week which called for posit help for distribution.
The Road Haulage Assoc tion, represented by chairrr Harold Russett and director-g, eral Freddie Plaskett, met Ridley on Tuesday this week E repeated its view that the P Office's exemption from tad graph and drivers' hours regt„ tions should end for parc operation.
But it came up against a sto wall in its request for datedate licensing of vehicles, move that the Department Transport said would impc high administrative costs.
