SOME form of co-ordination of buses, trams and trains to deal with suburban traffic seems to be desirable, Dr. K. G. Fenelon (director of the Department of Industrial Administration of Manchester College of Technology) told a meeting of the Leeds and district section of the Institute of Transport.
In the unsuccessful attempt that had been made to co-ordinate municipal and company-owned services, no serious efforts had been ekerted to bring in the railways, but that would be necessary and would probably involve the pooling of receipts. More would, in the speaker's opinion, probably be heard about regional boards.
Referring to the organization of fog services, Dr. Fenelon said that fog discipline was necessary among the staff.
He outlined the special ,precautions taken by Manchester Chrporation to maintain bus services during fog.
