Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

An official statement on the affiliation of the Midlands Area Coach and Transport Association, with A.R.O., was made at the annual dinner of the former Association, in Leicester, on Monday.

Mr. A. M. Lyons, KC., M.P., a member of the Parliamentary Road Group, who presided, said that the affiliation was a real step forward. It would not mean that the Midlands Area Association would lose its identity, or be swallowed up by A.R.O., but it would have its own representative on the council of A.R.O.

Major H. E. Crawfurd, president of A.R.O., declared that no Traffic Commissioner could give justice to road transport, under existing legislation.

" What we are determined to do, within the four corners of the Act, is , to take kip cases and carry them to the greatest length, even at considerable expense, to see, not that justice is done, but that legality is complied with,he added.

" If we want more business, we have to ask permission to handle it" Traffic Rules " Wasteful."

Belisha beacons," halt " signs, automade traffic Signals and other modern ttaffic fegulations in cities and towns Were, in many cases, wasteful and uneconomic, said Sir John .M'Donald, J.P., F.Inst.P.I.. president of the Scottish C.M.U.A., and a member of the Transport Advisory Council, when speaking, to the local branch of the Industrial Transport Association. .
