The licences of the associated JPG Logistics, P George International and Jean Knowles trading as P George International, which authorise 44 vehicles, have been revoked by the Scottish

Traffic Commissioner Michael Betts.

The commissioner had earlier suspended all three licences when the operators failed to attend a Glasgow disciplinary inquiry. They had been called before the commissioner because of concerns over maintenance and possible drivers' hours and tachographs irregularities.

In suspending the licences and giving the operators 10 days in which to contact the Traffic Area, the commissioner said the key individuals in all three licences were James Georgiadis and Jean Knowles, whom he understood to be Georgiadis's mother. Between them they filled the role of director and transport manager on all three licences.

Georgiadis had telephoned the traffic area seeking an adjournment on the grounds that his wife was expecting a baby and he did not want to travel to Scotland. He was told to put his request in wilting but nothing further was heard. Nothing had been heard from Mrs Knowles.

The Vehicle Inspectorate had reported that it was unable to contact any of the operators since early last year. The operators failed to make contact after the licence suspension. The commissioner revoked the licences and disqualified Georgiadis and Knowles from holding an 0-licence Indefinitely.
