• West Sussex-based Highway Vehicle Maintenance has announced two new maintenance and repair contracts with local authorities. Solihull council has awarded HVM a five-year contract, worth £4 million, for the provision and maintenance of large specialist vehicles and plant. In addition, the company has won the London Borough of Enfield's 22 million vehicle maintenance contract for a varied fleet of large specialist vehicles, cars, vans and items of plant over the next five years.
HVM already runs similar contracts with Reading, Bath and the London Boroughs of Morton and Wandsworth and is now interviewing the existing workforces at Solihull and Enfield with a view to reemployment with the company.
