Ile previously worked for Christian Salvesen where he was responsible for the analysis, design and implementation of warehousing and distribution systems at depots throughout the UK and Europe.

One of the tasks in his new position will be to build a new information systems department at the company's head office in Draycott-in-the-Clay, Derbyshire.

• GENERAL GUARANTEE CHARLESWORTH Roger Charlesworth has been appointed national manager, commercial vehicle finance, for independent finance company General Guarantee.

• GREENHOUS MIDLANDS POYNER Greenhous Midlands, the Leyland Daf truck and van and Bedford van dealership. has appointed a new general sales manager — Steve Poyner, based at Neachells Lane. Willenhall.

Poyner joins Greenhous from waste disposal vehicle distributor, Trio Containers, where he was national sales manager. I LEX VEHICLE LEASING HOSKINS Tony Hoskins has joined I,ex Vehicles Leasing as executive director, marketing, based at the company's new head office in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

Hoskins joins LVI. after nine years with employment specialist Manpower where he was marketing director. Prior to that, he was commercial executive, automotive division, with Chloride.

• RAY SMITH DEMOUNTABLES CHRISTOPHER/BROWN USHER/BROUGHALL Four new regional sales executives have been appointed by Ray Smith group in a reorganisation of the marketing of its tail-lifts, demountable-body systems and drawbar trailers.

Northern England and Scotland are the responsibility of David Christopher. The central band of the country has been split into West Midlands, serviced by Chris Brown, and East Midlands, by Graham Usher. Terry Broughall will look after the South West and south Wales.

• BIFA BLACKLOCK Roger Black hock has joined the British International Freight Association as trade divisions manager, with responsibility for two separate trading division — air, and parcels express and courier.

DANZAS O'LEARY/CALLAGHAN MATTH EWS/GI L L ABRAMOWSKI/COX International freight forwarder Darius (UK) has promoted Michael O'Leary to sales manager for the Western region, and James Callaghan to sales manager for the Northern region.

It has also recruited Bob Matthews as route development manager, Scandinavian Services. Ile will be based at the company's UK head office at Stratford, London.

Other staff changes include the appointment of three new branch managers. Stephen Gill takes up the position of branch manager in Bradford; Tom Abramowski will be in charge of the company's Abinl don, Oxfordshire branch with particular brief to develop the Danzas express system Eurapid. Steve Cox is the new branch manager of the Bristol office.

• SEARITE PEARCE Ray Pearce has joined Scant at Tilbury as manager of its newly-formed European Trans port Division.

He is responsible for the co ordination and control of Rotterdam-based IMOG's new UK groupage and full-load trai er services between west and east Europe.

Pearce has been involved ir the road haulage and freight forwarding industry for more than 12 years. He has previously worked in the operations department of Alltransport (now Burlington Northern), and subsequently as assistant manager (west Euro pean operations), with M&S Shipping.
