ETMC CONFERENCE • This year's European Transport Maintenance Council conference will be held in London on 26-29 November. Details are now available from Allan Barter on 01-853 0144, or John Taylor on (0753) 821363.
COMMENT WITH THE FT
• The Financial Times has arranged a conference to coincide with the Frankfurt Motor Show. The 1989 World Motor Conference will include contributions from Carl Hahn, chairman of Volkswagen, Dr Umberto Agnelli, chairman of Fiat, Raymond Levy, chairman of Renault, and Eiichi Kumabe, managing director of Toyota.
There will also be speeches from truck manufacturers, including Helmut Werner, from Daimler-Benz, Sten Langenius, president of Volvo, and Dr Giancarlo Boschetti, executive vice-president of lveco Fiat.

WEEKEND AWAY WITH THE RHA • The Young Executive Section of the Road Haulage Association will hold a study weekend on 1, 2 and 3 September at Titlington Hall Hotel, Eccleshall Road, Staf ford. The theme of the weekend will be "Directing and Managing Change" presented by Chris Gunning and Chris Sharpe. Cost is £100 (ex-VAT) and an RTITB grant is being sought.
