• Gateshead-based Go-Ahead Northern, biggest of the former NBC subsidiaries, has taken delivery of 14 Daf/Optare Deltas to join the 12 Leyland Lynxes it bought in March. Five Leyland Olympians will join the fleet later this year.
The Deltas are the the first new single-deckers to arrive in the Denventside district for six years. Eight of them will run between Consett and Sunderland, on two routes that traverse GAN's territory from east to west. The rest are destined for the ConsettNewcastle service. All are fitted out to be suitable for elderly and disabled passengers.
