1 believe that to damn co muter coach services univer lly is to ignore facts. Unfortl.mately, the TRRL survey appears to have looked solely at services offered generally, but where specific centres such as large companies or industrial estates are examined and attacked, then considerable potential is evident. My own experience does, however, suggest that it is unreasonable to load a full day's costs on this service — or else "perceived" car costs, and indeed car-clubs become more attractive.
After all, the cost of commuter services by rail or service is rarely particularly profitable. We are able to combine a road service licensed to run (to a very large industrial company) that is usually fully subscribed and with a waiting list, with school services.
An expensive, modern coach is not a prerequisite so long as it is clean and, above all, reliable. Consequently a reasonable living is earned H. J. PILTZ, Director, Town and Country Coachways, Wilmslow, Cheshire.
