TYRE SUPPLIERS in the Manchester area are suggesting that one reason for nonavailability of Michelin XZA tyres in commercial sizes is hoarding pending an imminent price increase.
Would the manufacturers care to comment in print? (NAME AND ADDRESS SUPPLIED).
Michelin tells us: "We regret any shortages of XZA that may occur but such is the popularity of this tyre that we are unable to meet the demand. During July, all but one of our UK truck tyre manufacturing plants close tor annual holidays, making the supply situation even more acute. The suggestion that we are hoarding tyres pending a price rise is most strenuously denied." — Editor.
